Before we move on to either of these two methods, you need to complete the following prerequisites to use WhatsApp without a phone number and SIM card.

• If you already have WhatsApp installed on your device, please check if you have authenticated WhatsApp.
• If you have already verified WhatsApp, please remove your current number from WhatsApp by uninstalling the app and reinstalling it.

Verify WhatsApp with TextNow (Method 1)

The first way is to download a messaging app called TextNow to your phone. This messaging app provides you with a unique phone number that you can enter into WhatsApp and use to verify your account.

1. Download TextNow to your device

Download the TextNow app to your device from the Google Play Store, iTunes App Store or Windows Phone Store.

2. Open the TextNow app and write down your number

Once the TextNow app is downloaded to your device, open it and go through the setup process. After setting up the app, make a note of your number.

If TextNow doesn’t show your number or you forgot to write down your number, you can find your TextNow number by following the steps below.

• Android: After opening the app on your Android phone, click on the 3-line icon located in the upper left corner of your Android device and you should see your phone number.
• iPhone: Tap the 3-line icon located in the upper left corner of your iPhone, iPod or iPad. After clicking the 3 line icon, you should see your phone number.
• Windows Phone: Once the app is open, navigate to the People tab and you should see your phone number.

3. Open WhatsApp and verify the number

After writing down your TextNow number, open WhatsApp on your phone, tablet or PC and follow steps 3.1 to 3.5 below.

3.1. Enter your TextNow number in WhatsApp

Once you agree to the WhatsApp terms and conditions, you will be prompted to enter your number. When prompted for your number, select your country and enter your TextNow number.

3.2. Waiting for SMS verification failure

Wait for 5 minutes for SMS verification failure. After SMS verification fails, the system will prompt you to dial your number. Click the “Call Me” button to receive an automated call from WhatsApp.

3.3. Get your WhatsApp verification code

Open the TextNow app on your device and you should receive a call from WhatsApp. Answer the call and an automated message from WhatsApp will repeat your verification code several times. Make a note of your verification number.

3.4. Enter the verification code in WhatsApp

Now, enter the verification code you received from the automated call into WhatsApp.

3.5. Complete the setup

After entering the verification code, complete the setup process in WhatsApp. You have now successfully created a WhatsApp account without a phone number.

Authenticating WhatsApp using an existing landline (Method 2)

The second method will use your existing home phone/landline number to authenticate WhatsApp. Just follow the steps below to use WhatsApp without a mobile number or SIM card.

1. Open WhatsApp on your phone, tablet or PC

Open the WhatsApp application on your phone, tablet or PC.

2. Enter your home phone/landline number

When prompted to enter your number, select your country and enter your home/landline number.

3. Wait for SMS verification failure

After about 5 minutes, SMS verification will fail and you will see the option to call me. Click on the “Call Me” option to place a call from WhatsApp to your home/landline number.

4. Enter the verification code

You will now receive an automated call from WhatsApp to your landline number. The automated voice will repeat your 6-digit verification code several times. Take note of this verification code and enter this verification code into WhatsApp.

5. Complete the setup process

After authenticating WhatsApp on your device, complete the setup process and you can start chatting with your friends on WhatsApp without using your mobile number or SIM card.
